Frequently asked questions

  • The Tobermory Trail Race Weekend consists of 4 unique race experiences. You can sign up for the Tobermory Trail Marathon, Half Marathon or 7KM on Saturday and/or the Flowerpot Island 5K on Sunday.

  • Pricing is listed in the online registration pages, prices will go up as deadlines come and go. 2023 pricing was kept the same as in 2020. If you’ve already registered, you will have been emailed a receipt from system@zone4.ca

  • Proceeds support the Tobermory Primary Place daycare and outdoor sport on the Bruce Peninsula via PASA.

  • Spectator passes are available for the Flowerpot Island 5K run. Spectator passes include a boat ride to and from the island, as well as breakfast back on the mainland at the Tobermory Community Centre.

  • For Saturday’s events: 5:30am – 8:30am Race Kit Pick-Up (Tobermory Community Centre)

    For Sunday’s FPI5K: 5:30am-6:15am FPI5K Race-Kit Pick-Up & Spectator Check-In (at the Blue Heron Dock)

  • The course is marked with a mix of:

    • Bruce Trail White Blazes (saturday races)

    • Florescent orange pin flags anywhere Bruce Trail markers are scarce or a trail intersection has happened

    • Arrows will be used to clarify some turns

    The scenery is beautiful but the trail is not without it challenges. The marathon & half marathon trail races have a very high level of difficulty, occasionally with extremely technical segments. See FPI5K & Trail Marathon pages for more information.

  • Aid stations – with water, electrolytes drink & first aid are available at ~10km to 12km intervals. Port-a-potties will be available at intervals.

  • The Bruce Trail is a public hiking path and individuals can make use of it at anytime. The 1/2 marathon course generally runs from Cyprus Lake to Tobermory on the Bruce Trail. The Marathon is an out & back beginning in Tobermory, going to Cyprus Lake and then returning.

The Tobermory Trail Race Weekend supports the Tobermory Primary Place Child Care Centre. In 2024 the event raised $14,815.17 with donations from participants, sponsors & event proceeds! Thanks to everyone who participated and our generous sponsors!
